"There's no such thing as bad surf."
Our Summer Fish is short but wide with hidden volume; paddling is so easy it feels like you’re cheating. But with a drawn in swallow tail that’s lively and responsive. Those small summer waves become a playground of ramps and little power pockets that connect through little flats and fun bowl sections. It opens your eyes to a whole new skate park in the line-up.
It’s such a versatile board – small waves, onshore days, first shortboard, step down for a longboard. No matter, this is the board that proves the old saying – there’s no such thing as bad surf.
Fin(s) included: None.
Construction - TEC
Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our vacuum epoxy layup. Vacuum epoxy uses a hand lay-up process, with a vacuum bonding process to bind the fiber to the board and remove excess resin. We have a few tricks in the vacuum process that keeps the resin content at a much better level than can usually be achieved.
What are the benefits?
We can add extra layers of fiber while keeping the overall weight down – our shortboards have 18oz of fiber on the deck and 10oz on the base – approximately double of the fiber found on most boards of the same weight.
The result is lightweight AND durability. The weight is similar to a PU but we have a lot more fiber and more layers to reinforce the rail.
How do they surf?
The performance is very direct – TEC has an immediate response that is especially good in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves the advantage is they are a lot less likely to break.
If you’re used to PU they feel quick at first. After a few surfs, your old PU will feel very slow!
Our team rider’s report their boards outlasting their previous boards by around 2-4 times longer.
